Wingstop Copycat Cajun Fried Corn
Servings: 4
Ingredients
4 ears of corn, cut into 2-inch pieces
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
2 tablespoons melted butter
Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Directions
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.
Dip each piece of corn into the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat in the seasoned flour mixture.
Carefully place the coated corn pieces into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding the pot.
Fry the corn for about 4-6 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Remove the corn from the oil using a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
Once all the corn is fried, toss the pieces in melted butter while still hot. This enhances the flavor and adds richness.
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.
Variations & Tips
For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the flour mixture. If you prefer a less intense spice, reduce the Cajun seasoning by half. You can also experiment with adding grated Parmesan cheese after frying for an extra layer of flavor. For a healthier option, skip the frying and grill the corn instead, then toss with the seasoning and melted butter before serving.
