By Morgan Reed
Slow cooker creamy Amish chicken pasta is a comforting dish that brings together the simplicity of Amish cooking with the convenience of modern slow-cooking techniques. Amish cuisine is known for its hearty, home-cooked meals that often feature simple, wholesome ingredients. This dish is perfect for busy weeknights or when you want to enjoy a warm, satisfying meal without spending hours in the kitchen. The slow cooker does all the work, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully while you go about your day.
This creamy Amish chicken pasta pairs wonderfully with a fresh green salad tossed in a light vinaigrette, which adds a refreshing contrast to the richness of the dish. A side of crusty bread or garlic knots is perfect for soaking up the creamy sauce. For a touch of color and additional nutrients, consider serving it alongside steamed green beans or roasted asparagus.

1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
12 oz pasta (such as penne or rotini)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
In a bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, cream cheese, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
Pour the mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
About 30 minutes before serving, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir in the cooked pasta.
Mix everything well to ensure the pasta is coated in the creamy sauce.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Variations & Tips
For a lighter version, you can substitute the heavy cream with half-and-half or milk. Add vegetables like peas, spinach, or mushrooms to the slow cooker for extra nutrition and flavor. If you prefer a bit of heat, sprinkle in some red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce. You can also use different types of pasta, such as fusilli or farfalle, depending on your preference.
