Cooktop Cove: I was sure my aunt's recipe was gone, but I discovered it and it's even more delicious!

Ham and cheese crescent rolls are a delightful treat that bring back memories of cozy family gatherings and lazy Sunday brunches. These flaky, golden pastries are filled with gooey cheese and savory ham, making them a perfect comfort food. Whether you're looking for a quick appetizer for a party or a simple yet satisfying snack, these crescent rolls are sure to please. They're also incredibly easy to make, which is a lifesaver for someone like me who is always juggling work and home life.
These ham and cheese crescent rolls pair wonderfully with a fresh green salad or a bowl of tomato soup for a light lunch or dinner. If you're serving them as an appetizer, consider adding a platter of assorted cheeses and fruits to complement the flavors. A glass of crisp white wine or a refreshing iced tea would also make a lovely accompaniment.
Ham and Cheese Crescent Rolls
Servings: 8
Ingredients
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
8 slices of deli ham
8 slices of cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard (optional)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon of sesame seeds (optional)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
If using, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each triangle.
Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on the wide end of each triangle.
Roll up each triangle, starting from the wide end, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a different flavor profile, try using Swiss cheese and turkey slices instead of ham and cheddar. You can also add a sprinkle of Italian seasoning or a dash of garlic powder for extra flavor. If you're feeling adventurous, add a slice of roasted red pepper or a few spinach leaves inside each roll for a veggie twist. These rolls can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to two days before baking, making them a convenient option for busy schedules.
