Slow Cooker Sweet Chili Dim Sum with Pineapple
Servings: 4-6 servings
Ingredients
1 pound frozen dim sum (chicken, beef, pork, or veggie)
1 cup sweet chili sauce
1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained)
1/2 cup pineapple juice (reserved from canned pineapple or fresh)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
Directions
Place the frozen dim sum in the slow cooker.
In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet chili sauce, pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, soy sauce, grated ginger, and garlic powder. Stir well to combine.
Pour the sauce mixture over the dim sum in the slow cooker, ensuring all pieces are well coated.
Cover and cook on high for 3 hours, or until the dim sum is tender and cooked through.
Once cooked, gently stir to ensure the sauce is evenly distributed.
Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Variations & Tips
For a spicier version, add a teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the sauce mixture. If you have picky eaters, you can use a milder sweet and sour sauce instead of sweet chili sauce. For a vegetarian option, use veggie dim sum and add some bell pepper slices for extra color and flavor. You can also experiment with different types of dim sum to find your family's favorite combination.
