5-Ingredient Hershey's Chocolate Frosting
Servings: Makes enough for a 9x13 inch cake or 24 cupcakes
Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
2/3 cup Hershey's cocoa powder
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and cocoa powder. Stir until smooth.
Gradually add the powdered sugar and milk, alternating between the two, while mixing on medium speed.
Once all the sugar and milk are incorporated, stir in the vanilla extract.
Beat the mixture on high speed for about 1-2 minutes, until the frosting is smooth and creamy.
Use immediately to frost your favorite cake or cupcakes, swirling with a spatula for a beautiful finish.
Variations & Tips
For a richer flavor, try using dark cocoa powder instead of regular. If you prefer a less sweet frosting, reduce the powdered sugar by half a cup and add a pinch of salt to balance the flavors. For a nutty twist, stir in a handful of finely chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts. If you're catering to a crowd with different tastes, consider adding a teaspoon of instant coffee granules for a mocha flavor or a dash of cinnamon for a warm, spicy note.
