Cooktop Cove: Looks so good and tastes even better! Bringing them to my next potluck!
By Morgan Reed
Blueberry Cheesecake Rolls are a delightful fusion of classic cheesecake and the convenience of crescent roll dough. This recipe is perfect for those who love the creamy richness of cheesecake but are looking for a quicker, more accessible way to enjoy it. Originating from the idea of combining traditional desserts with modern shortcuts, these rolls offer a burst of blueberry flavor wrapped in a flaky, buttery crust. They're ideal for a weekend brunch or a sweet treat after dinner.
These Blueberry Cheesecake Rolls pair beautifully with a fresh fruit salad or a dollop of whipped cream on the side. For a more indulgent experience, serve them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A cup of freshly brewed coffee or a glass of cold milk complements the rolls perfectly, enhancing their sweet and tangy flavors.
Blueberry Cheesecake Rolls
Servings: 8
Ingredients
1 tube of crescent roll dough
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture over each triangle, leaving a small border around the edges.
Sprinkle a few blueberries and a pinch of lemon zest over the cream cheese layer.
Starting from the wide end, roll up each triangle and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Allow the rolls to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
Variations & Tips
For a different flavor profile, try using raspberries or strawberries in place of blueberries. You can also add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the cream cheese mixture for a warm spice note. If you prefer a more decadent roll, drizzle a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk over the top after baking. For a savory twist, omit the sugar and vanilla in the cream cheese mixture and add a pinch of salt and fresh herbs like chives or dill.
