Whether your forgot to grease your skillet or forgot that you had eggs boiling on the stove, a scorched pan looks horrible. It's certainly not something you want your guests seeing when they come over for dinner. But, you can get rid of those stains using baking soda and vinegar!
Cleaning the inside of your panTo remove the burns and scorches from inside your pan, grab a cup of vinegar, two tablespoons of baking soda, a cup of water and a scrubber (sorry, you have to do a
little work).
Dump a cup of water into the bottom of your pan (or enough to completely cover the bottom) and add your vinegar. Bring the water-vinegar mixture to a boil. When the water is boiling, remove your pan from the heat and add your baking soda. Let it fizz for a minute, empty the water into the sink and scrub. You can add more baking soda (for extra scrubbing power) as needed. You'll get a cleaner pan in less time and your shoulders will thank you for it.
Cleaning the outsideCleaning the inside of your pans is hard enough, trying to get the scorches and burns from the bottom of your pan, takes a little creativity.
To start, grab a baking sheet and cover the bottom with white vinegar. Add 1 cup of baking soda to the vinegar. Set your dirty pan into the fizzing mixture (quickly, so your pan gets the foaming action). You'll need to let this set for about 24 hours. The next day, remove your pan, and scrub the bottom with a bit of vinegar and baking soda. The bottoms of your pans will look brand new (and you'll have done hardly any of the work!)
