Cooktop Cove: How to make slow cooker buffalo candied yams

These sweet and spicy garnet yam treats are the perfect side dish for your next family dinner, Sunday brunch or holiday get together. The sweetness of the brown sugar is the perfect compliment to the spicy hot sauce and the creamy yams hold all of the deliciousness together! Top with blue cheese crumbles to finish and your family will be licking their plates!
This recipe is as easy as 1-2-3. Start by mixing everything up right into the slow cooker. Turn it on and let it go. Four hours later, finish with blue cheese and parsley you have yourself an amazing sweet, spicy and buttery side dish that everyone is going to go crazy for! Enjoy!
Slow Cooker Buffalo Candied Yams

2 pounds peeled garnet yams, cut into large bite sized pieces
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup Frank's hot sauce
1 cup butter, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 tablespoon paprika
1 cup thinly sliced yellow onion
1 cup thinly sliced red bell pepper
1 cup blue cheese crumbles
2 tablespoons roughly chopped parsley
Combine everything from garnet yams to red bell peppers into a 6-quart slow cooker.
Cook on high for 4 hours.
Top with blue cheese and parsley.
