In the same spirit as sweet potato casserole or cranberry sauce, the recipe below is a Thanksgiving side that brings just the right amount of sweetness to an otherwise savory dish.
This casserole couldn't be easier to pull together. You'll combine canned pineapple, cheddar cheese and buttery Ritz crackers, and bake the dish until browned and bubbly. Serve it alongside classic Thanksgiving fixings or simply with a roast chicken for a super tasty weeknight supper.

1 cup sugar
6 tablespoons self-rising flour
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
One 15-ounce can pineapple chunks, drained, juice reserved
One 15-ounce can crushed pineapple, drained
1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
8 tablespoons butter, melted
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 9-by-13-inch casserole dish.
In a large bowl, stir together the sugar and flour. Gradually stir in the cheese. Add the pineapple, and stir until well-combined.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
In a separate bowl, combine the reserved pineapple juice, cracker crumbs and melted butter. Pour over the top of the casserole.
Bake 25 minutes, or until bubbly and brown on top.
