If you've ever been to Texas Roadhouse, then you know that their rolls are absolutely legendary. Warm, fluffy, and served with a generous dollop of butter, these rolls are often the highlight of the meal. But what if you could recreate that experience at home? With this recipe for Texas Roadhouse Rolls in a casserole dish, you can do just that.
I have a personal story about Texas Roadhouse Rolls that I think perfectly illustrates their magic. A few years ago, I went to Texas Roadhouse with my family for dinner. It had been a long day, and I was tired and hungry. But as soon as the basket of rolls arrived at our table, I perked up. The smell alone was enough to make my mouth water. I tore off a piece of the warm, buttery bread and slathered it with butter.
It was like heaven in my mouth. Suddenly, I wasn't tired anymore. I was completely absorbed in the experience of eating those rolls. From that day on, I was hooked. Whenever I went to Texas Roadhouse, I knew that the rolls would be the highlight of my meal. And now, with this recipe, I can enjoy that same experience at home whenever I want.
Texas Roadhouse Rolls
Ingredients:
2 cups of milk
4 teaspoons of active dry yeast
1/2 cup of lukewarm water
3 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter
5 tablespoons of granulated sugar
1/4 cup of honey
~7.5 cups of all-purpose flour
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of salt
Topping: 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter
Instructions:
Warm the milk in a microwave-safe bowl for about 1 minute until it reaches a lukewarm temperature.
In a separate bowl, combine the lukewarm water, active dry yeast, and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the foamy yeast mixture, warmed milk, melted unsalted butter, honey, and the remaining granulated sugar (4 tablespoons). Mix well.
Gradually add the all-purpose flour, about 1 cup at a time, while stirring continuously. Continue adding flour until the dough is soft and slightly sticky.
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for approximately 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Turn it out onto a floured surface and divide it into equal-sized portions.
Shape each portion into a roll by rolling it between your palms. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, leaving a little space between them for expansion.
Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until they have doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small bowl, whisk the eggs with a fork. Brush the risen rolls with the beaten eggs.
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Remove the rolls from the oven and brush the tops with the melted unsalted butter.
Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these delicious Texas Roadhouse rolls warm!
