Chicken Spaghetti Casserole is the perfect dish for a family dinner or for a potluck party with friends. This mouthwatering recipe combines the delicious taste of chicken, spaghetti and cheese in a single, flavorful casserole. The prep time is quick and the result is outstanding. Once you taste it, you just can't resist to have a second helping.
This recipe has a special place in my family's heart because my mom used to make it for us almost every week. I still remember the smell of the creamy sauce and the tender chicken in the oven. The alluring aroma coming out of the oven would make us drool like anything. It's easy to make, takes less than an hour from prep to plate, and the best part is you can customize the recipe to your liking. I guarantee that once you try this recipe, it will become a regular feature in your weekly dinner rotation.
Chicken Spaghetti Casserole
Ingredients:
- 7 oz spaghetti
- 2 cups cooked chicken, cut up into pieces
- 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup bell peppers (green or red)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cans (10.75-oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup jack cheese
Optional: Add mushrooms or celery
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
3. In skillet, melt butter and cook veggies. In separate bowl, mix milk and condensed cream of mushroom soup until smooth. Add to veggies in pan.
4. Stir in cheddar cheese and cook until cheese has melted. Add in chicken. Add cooked spaghetti to the bowl and mix everything gently.
5. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray and pour the spaghetti mixture into the dish.
6. Sprinkle jack cheese over the spaghetti mixture.
7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes or until casserole is bubbling.
