Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie is a decadent, gooey dessert that feels like a warm hug. Originating from the classic Toll House cookie recipe, this pie takes it up a notch by turning those beloved cookies into a rich and indulgent pie. It's the perfect treat for any occasion, whether you're hosting a family dinner, going to a potluck, or simply treating yourself after a long week. This pie embodies comfort and nostalgia, making it a crowd-pleaser every single time.
This pie is best served warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. If you're feeling extra indulgent, drizzle some chocolate or caramel sauce over the top. To balance the richness of the pie, you can pair it with a fresh, crisp green salad for a complete meal. And of course, a hot cup of coffee or a cold glass of milk complements this dessert perfectly.
Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie
Servings: 8
Ingredients
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened (2 sticks)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional, but pecans or walnuts work great)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs on high speed until foamy.
Add the flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until well blended.
Blend in the softened butter.
Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
Spoon the mixture into your unbaked pie crust.
Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted halfway between the edge and center comes out clean. (If necessary, cover the edges with foil during the last 15 minutes to prevent overbrowning.)
Cool on a wire rack. Serve warm with ice cream or topping of your choice.
Variations & Tips
You can switch up the mix-ins based on your preference or what you have on hand. Try using white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, or even a mix of different types of chocolate. For a more festive touch, add in some M&Ms or seasonal sprinkles. If you're not a fan of nuts, feel free to leave them out or substitute with shredded coconut or dried fruit. Also, to make this recipe a bit more indulgent, try drizzling some melted chocolate or caramel sauce over the cooled pie for an extra layer of flavor.
