Baked Cherry Pie Rice Paper Rolls
Servings: 6
Ingredients
12 rice paper rolls
1 can of cherry pie filling
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare a clean, flat surface to work on and a shallow dish of warm water for softening the rice paper rolls.
Gently dip one rice paper roll into the warm water for about 10-15 seconds until it becomes pliable but not too soft.
Place the softened rice paper on the flat surface and spoon about 2 tablespoons of cherry pie filling onto the center.
Fold the sides of the rice paper over the filling, then roll it up tightly like a burrito. Repeat with the remaining rice paper rolls and filling.
Brush a baking sheet lightly with cooking oil to prevent sticking.
Place each rolled rice paper seam-side down on the baking sheet.
Brush the tops of the rolls lightly with cooking oil.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden and crispy.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Variations & Tips
If you have some picky eaters in the house, you can absolutely switch up the filling! Try using apple pie filling or blueberry pie filling for a different fruity flavor. For a richer taste, sprinkle a bit of cinnamon or nutmeg over the pie filling before rolling it up. Additionally, you could serve these with a caramel or chocolate drizzle for an extra touch of sweetness. And for a savory take, replace the pie filling with a cheesy broccoli filling or savory pulled pork – the possibilities are endless!
