By McKayla Davis
This slow cooker honey mustard ham is an absolute favorite in our home. It's one of those dishes that's perfect for a cozy Sunday dinner or for impressing guests during the holidays. By using a slow cooker, the ham turns out juicy and flavorful without much fuss, giving you more time to spend with your loved ones. The honey mustard glaze adds a delightful tangy sweetness that pairs wonderfully with the savory meat.
This dish pairs beautifully with creamy mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh green salad. You can also serve it with some crusty bread to soak up the delicious juices. For a touch of sweetness, consider adding a side of caramelized apples or cranberry sauce.
Slow Cooker Honey Mustard Ham
Servings: 8-10 servings
Ingredients
1 (6-8 pound) fully cooked bone-in ham
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
1. Place the ham in the slow cooker.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the honey, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, and black pepper.
3. Pour the honey mustard mixture over the ham, making sure to coat it evenly.
4. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, basting occasionally with the juices.
5. Once the ham is heated through and tender, remove it from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
6. Serve the ham slices with the juices from the slow cooker drizzled on top.
Variations & Tips
For a different twist, you can add pineapple slices on top of the ham before pouring the honey mustard mixture. If you have picky eaters at home, consider adjusting the sweetness by adding more honey or reducing the mustard. You can also try using different types of mustard, such as spicy brown mustard, for a little kick. And if you like a bit of smokiness in your ham, add a few drops of liquid smoke to the glaze.
