Cooktop Cove: ‘The Gobbler's Delight’ – My family always fights over the last cheesy bite!
By Georgia Lynn
Cheesy turkey tetrazzini casserole is a comforting dish that brings back memories of family gatherings and Sunday dinners. Originating from the heart of the Midwest, this dish combines the warmth of a creamy sauce with the savory goodness of turkey and cheese. It's a perfect way to use up leftover turkey, especially after the holidays, and it fills the kitchen with an aroma that feels like a hug from Grandma. This recipe is a staple in many Midwestern homes, cherished for its simplicity and heartiness.
This casserole pairs beautifully with a crisp green salad, perhaps with a tangy vinaigrette to balance the richness of the dish. A side of buttery garlic bread or warm dinner rolls would also complement the creamy texture of the tetrazzini. For a touch of color and freshness, consider serving it with steamed green beans or roasted Brussels sprouts.

Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs evenly over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a bit of a kick, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. If you prefer a different cheese, try using mozzarella or Gruyère for a different flavor profile. You can also add some peas or broccoli to the casserole for extra vegetables. If you're looking for a gluten-free option, substitute the spaghetti with gluten-free pasta and use a gluten-free flour blend for the sauce.
