Cooktop Cove: Layer tortilla chips on a sheet pan & bake up a cheesy snack in no time

Sheet pan nachos are the ultimate quick and easy meal for those busy weeknights when you just want to throw something together that's both satisfying and delicious. Growing up in the Midwest, nachos were a staple at every family gathering, and now as a working professional, I've found a way to simplify them without sacrificing flavor. This 6-ingredient version is perfect for when you're short on time but still want to enjoy a homemade meal. Plus, it's a great way to bring everyone together around the table, just like we used to do on game nights.
These nachos are perfect on their own, but if you're looking to round out the meal, consider serving them with a side of fresh guacamole or a simple green salad. A refreshing limeade or a cold beer pairs wonderfully with the cheesy, spicy flavors. For a heartier meal, you could also add a side of Mexican rice or refried beans.
6-Ingredient Sheet Pan Nachos
Servings: 4
Ingredients
1 bag of tortilla chips
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup salsa
1/2 cup sliced jalapeños
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Spread the tortilla chips evenly across a large sheet pan.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chips, making sure to cover them evenly.
Scatter the black beans over the cheese.
Spoon the salsa over the top, followed by the sliced jalapeños.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped cilantro before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a meatier version, add cooked and seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken before baking. If you prefer a vegetarian option, consider adding roasted corn or diced bell peppers for extra flavor and color. For those who like it extra spicy, add a drizzle of hot sauce or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes. You can also switch up the cheese to Monterey Jack or a Mexican blend for a different taste.
