Cooktop Cove: How to make creamy rice and chicken in a slow cooker (video)
One of the creamiest, most delicious ways to enjoy chicken is a creamy chicken and rice soup. The dish is perfect for a cozy night indoors, and it'll make your kitchen smell like a wonderland of flavor! Like most slow cooker recipes, the dish is extremely easy to make and requires almost no preparation. All you have to do is dump the ingredients in the pot!
Slow cooker creamy rice and chicken
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 4 hours, 5 minutes
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 1/2 cups of water
2 10 oz cans of cream of chicken
6 oz box of long grain & wild rice with seasoning packet
3 carrots, chopped
3 celery sticks, chopped
1. Chop up the celery and carrots into small chunks. The size of the pieces is entirely up to your preference.
2. Combine all ingredients into the slow cooker, starting with the chicken.
3. Cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours.
That's it! It's really that simple!
Pro tip: To ensure the chicken cooks properly, make sure to place the chicken on the bottom and along the sides of the slow cooker. This will ensure the chicken is making contact with the cooker's heating element.
Pro tip: If you want a spin on this recipe, try chopping the chicken into small bits before placing it into the crock pot. This will make more of a porridge as shown below.
