Cooktop Cove: How to make stuffed cannelloni in a casserole
Stuffed pasta is the best pasta! This baked stuffed cannelloni dish is the perfect dish for dinner anytime. Stuffed with creamy ricotta cheese, spinach and herbs and topped with tomato sauce and cheese...yes, please! Not only is this dish delicious to eat, it is simple to make!
You will start by cooking your pasta according to the directions on the box. If you can't find cannelloni pasta, manicotti will work. Next, combine ricotta cheese, one egg yolk to help bind the filling, herbs, spinach, garlic and a little salt. From there fill the cooked pasta with the cheese filling with a piping bag or. If you do not have a store bought piping bag, you can make one at home with a resealable plastic sandwich bag. Fill bag and cut a ½ inch hole in one of the bottom corners of the bag. Remove air from bag, seal bag and pipe though hole. Be sure to make the hole smaller than the size of the pasta. Line a baking dish with the stuffed noodles, top with marinara and cheese and bake. 35 minutes later and you have a the most delicious baked pasta and cheese!
