Cooktop Cove: Cut biscuits into wedges and lay down in casserole. Get ready for the mouthwatering sauce on top
By Laura Martin
Making sandwiches for a crowd can be tough; why not make this casserole instead? With only five minutes of prep, you can have a hot, delicious dinner. See the recipe below for the ultra-simple instructions.
I like to make this with classic marinara sauce, but feel free to customize with your favorite sauce: chunky, meaty or spicy. The biscuit dough crisps beautifully, just like a toasted bun. You'll end up with a "bubble up" casserole that will become a family favorite time and time again.
Servings: 8-12
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 50 minutes
Total Time: 55 minutes
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan generously with butter or oil.
2. Remove biscuits from can. Use 1 can of Pillsbury Grands biscuits.
Cut each one into eight wedges.
Arrange evenly in bottom of prepared dish.
3. Grab 1 bag (20 ounces) of frozen meatballs. Arrange meatballs on top of biscuits.
Cover with 2 cups of spaghetti sauce, starting with a cup and adding more to desired level of sauciness.
Sprinkle cheese (~1½ cups) on top.
4. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until browned and bubbling.
Pro tip: You can also use slices of provolone cheese in place of the shredded mozzarella.
