Cooktop Cove: Nothing compares to this 5-ingredient marinade for chicken drumsticks
By Emily Monaco
You don't need a laundry list of ingredients to infuse chicken with loads of flavor. The recipe that follows takes only five: sesame oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, honey and garlic. Together, they form a sweet-and-savory marinade that cooks into a sticky, caramelized sauce in the oven.
The flavor of the chicken will only get better the longer you marinate it. Consider combining the chicken and marinade the night before to give it a day to develop flavor. As an added bonus, all you'll need to do to get this entree on the table the day is preheat the oven and bake the meat.

1 hour 15 minutes
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
5 tablespoons honey
6 cloves garlic, minced
4 pounds chicken drumsticks
Green onion, chopped
In a medium bowl, whisk together everything except the chicken.
Arrange the drumsticks in a large bowl, and pour the marinade on top. Stir briefly to coat the chicken in the marinade.
Carefully pour the chicken and marinade into a zip-top bag.
Massage the contents of the bag well to ensure that the chicken is well-coated, and marinate at least 20 minutes or up to overnight in the fridge.
Heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Transfer the drumsticks and marinade to a baking sheet, and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until nicely browned.
Garnish with green onion.
