Cooktop Cove: Guests will be begging for seconds after tasting this slow cooker 'no peek' chicken

Slow-cooker no-peek chicken is a classic recipe that always turns out well. It requires just a few common ingredients, and it practically cooks itself. The key to having it turn out perfectly – creamy, rice, tender chicken and a lightly browned top – is to resist the urge to lift the lid to check on it during the cooking time.
After you've made this recipe once or twice, you won't even need to look at a recipe. Apart from the chicken, you can keep all of the ingredients in your pantry. That makes this a recipe that can come to the rescue in a pinch, such as when you don't have time to cook or go to the grocery store. The best part is that everyone loves eating it!
Slow cooker no peek chicken
5 minutes
3 1/2 hours
3 hours and 35 minutes
Nonstick cooking spray
2 cups of minute rice
1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 ounces)
1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 ounces)
1 can water (measure with an empty soup can)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 packets onion soup mix
4 to 5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Spray the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, stir together the rice, chicken soup, mushroom soup, water, garlic powder and pepper.
Spoon half of the soup and rice mixture into the slow cooker.
Arrange the chicken on top in a single layer.
Pour the rest of the soup mixture over the chicken.
Sprinkle the onion soup mixture evenly over the top.
Cover the slow cooker, and cook for 3 1/2 hours on high. Do not open the slow cooker to check on the chicken during cooking.
Serve hot.
