Cooktop Cove: Use mason jar to make hole in beef patty & prepare this abundant idea

Forget topping your burgers the traditional way. If you are looking to impress friends and family or are simply tired of the "usual" way of making burgers, you need to try out this creative technique. The recipe below shows you how, with a nifty technique that requires just one simple tool: a mason jar.
Use the jar to cut out the center of your burger, just like making a donut. Once the middle is removed, you can fill your burgers with pretty much anything you like.
In this recipe, the burgers are filled with a secret mouthwatering mixture. But you can easily change things up, adding mushrooms, grilled onions, and more. Be sure to save the cutouts from the centers of the burgers, which can be used to make your very own homemade sliders.
1. Season 2 pounds of ground chuck with salt and pepper
Mix to combine.
2. Divide into four half-pound meatballs.
Flatten each into a patty about 1 inch thick.
Turn a mason jar 4 inches in diameter upside down, and use the rim to cut out the center of each burger.
Reserve the cutouts for sliders or another recipe. (This recipe is called "donut" burger for a reason!)
3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Working in batches, add the patties and cook 4 minutes on the first side, until golden brown.
Flip, and cook 1 minute more.
Carefully crack an egg into the hole in each burger.
Top the egg with a sprinkling of chopped bacon and cheese.
Cover the skillet and cook 2 more minutes, until the burger is medium rare and the egg is cooked but still runny.
Meanwhile, toast the buns.
Transfer the burgers to the toasted buns and serve.
Feel free to add your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, and onions! Enjoy your donut burgers!
