These slow cooker beef sliders are the kind of low-effort weekend recipe that makes busy days feel a little easier. Using just a handful of affordable ingredients, the patties cook down into tender, juicy beef that’s perfect for piling onto slider buns with plenty of flavor from the slow cooker. It’s a practical, budget-friendly idea for game day, casual family dinners, or those weekends when you want something warm and hearty without hovering over the stove.
Serve these sliders with kettle chips, oven fries, pickle spears, or a simple coleslaw to balance the richness. For a casual spread, set out sliced cheese, extra onions, mustard, and barbecue sauce so everyone can build their own. They also pair really well with baked beans, macaroni salad, or a crisp green salad if you want to round things out into a full meal.
Slow Cooker 6-Ingredient Poor Man Beef Sliders
Servings: 12 sliders
Ingredients
12 frozen raw beef slider patties or 6 frozen raw burger patties
1 cup mayonnaise
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
12 slider buns
12 dill pickle slices
6 slices American cheese, halved
Directions
1. Lightly coat the inside of the slow cooker with a little nonstick spray if desired. Arrange the frozen beef patties in the slow cooker, slightly overlapping if needed, then spread the mayonnaise evenly over the tops. Scatter the sliced onion over everything.
2. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until the beef is fully cooked and very tender. If you used larger patties, break them apart with a spoon near the end of cooking so the meat is easier to pile onto the buns.
3. If using cheese, lay the halved cheese slices over the hot beef during the last 10 minutes of cooking and cover again just until melted.
4. Spoon the beef and onions onto the slider buns, top each with a pickle slice, and serve warm.
Variations & Tips
Cheeseburger Style: Add the cheese for the last few minutes of cooking and finish the sliders with an extra pickle slice and a little yellow mustard for a classic diner-style feel.
Make It Stretch Further: If you are feeding a crowd, use the larger burger patties and shred them after cooking so the beef goes further across all 12 buns. This is one of those practical slow cooker tricks that helps a budget meal still feel generous.
Add More Flavor: A pinch of black pepper, onion powder, or a spoonful of prepared mustard can be mixed into the mayonnaise before spreading it over the patties if you want a little more zip without adding much work.
Best Texture Tip: If the slow cooker collects a lot of liquid, spoon off a little before assembling the sliders so the buns do not get too soggy. Toasting the buns lightly also helps them hold up better.
Meal Prep Tip: The cooked beef mixture reheats well for lunch the next day. Store the meat separately from the buns and toppings, then warm the beef and assemble fresh when you are ready to eat.
