This oven baked lazy cream cheese bacon ziti is the kind of low-effort, high-reward casserole that earns a permanent spot in a busy cook’s rotation. With just four main ingredients, it delivers creamy, smoky comfort in a form that feels perfect for game night, potlucks, or an easy weeknight dinner. Ziti holds onto the rich cream cheese sauce especially well, while bacon brings salt and crunch, creating a dish that tastes far more involved than it actually is.
Serve this rich baked pasta with something fresh and crisp to balance it, such as a simple green salad with vinaigrette, roasted broccoli, or steamed green beans. Garlic bread is an easy crowd-pleaser alongside it, and if you are setting it out for a casual gathering, a bowl of marinated tomatoes or a crunchy slaw also pairs nicely with the creamy sauce.
Oven Baked 4-Ingredients Lazy Cream Cheese Bacon Ziti
Servings: 6
Ingredients
1 pound ziti pasta
8 ounces cream cheese, softened and cubed
12 ounces bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
2 cups jarred Alfredo sauce
Directions
1. Heat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a medium baking dish. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the ziti until just shy of al dente, then drain.
2. In the warm pasta pot or a large mixing bowl, combine the drained ziti, Alfredo sauce, cubed cream cheese, and most of the crumbled bacon, reserving a small handful of bacon for the top. Stir until the cream cheese begins to soften and coat the pasta.
3. Transfer the pasta mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer. Scatter the reserved bacon over the top.
4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until bubbly around the edges and hot throughout. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Variations & Tips
Add mozzarella: If you want a more classic baked pasta texture, stir in or top the casserole with 1 to 2 cups shredded mozzarella before baking. It gives the dish a stretchy, browned cheese layer while keeping the creamy interior.
Use penne instead: Penne works just as well if that is what you have in the pantry. Any short tubular pasta with ridges will catch the sauce and small bacon bits nicely.
Make it peppery: A generous grind of black pepper or a pinch of red pepper flakes wakes up the richness of the cream cheese and Alfredo. This is especially useful if your sauce is very mild.
Do not overbake: Because the sauce is dairy-rich, baking too long can make it tighten up. Pull the casserole once it is bubbling and heated through, then rest it briefly so the sauce stays creamy rather than dry.
Prep ahead: You can assemble the dish several hours ahead and refrigerate it before baking. If baking straight from the refrigerator, add a few extra minutes so the center heats evenly.
