Would you like to get a dessert on the table knowing it takes just minutes to prepare and only five ingredients? I'm here to tell you that you can with the recipe below. And it's delicious Southern blueberry cobbler! Many definitions of cobbler exist, but mine is one that is more of a cake with fresh blueberries scattered on top. With a little bit of sugar on top, of course, that gives it some needed texture.
You can use any fresh berries you want for this recipe, but blueberries are a particular favorite of mine. They are delicious and packed with nutrients, but that's not the only reason I love using them in this cobbler. What I might love most about them is that some of them pop ever so slightly, and those juices trickle down into the cake just enough to give it a bit of pop. That's what makes this cobbler comforting enough for Sunday supper but elegant enough for entertaining.
Southern Blueberry Cobbler

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar, plus 1/4 cup
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1 cup fresh blueberries
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9-inch round baking dish.
Combine the flour and 1 cup of white sugar in a large mixing bowl.
Whisk in the milk until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Add melted butter and mix again.
Pour this mixture into the baking dish. Sprinkle the blueberries on the top and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar on top of the blueberries.
Place in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour. To make the top extra crunchy, sprinkle on 1 more tablespoon of sugar in the last 10 minutes of cooking.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for just a few minutes before slicing.
