Give your taste buds a treat with these sweet and savory pork burgers. Using ground pork instead of beef is a mouth-watering way to naturally infuse extra flavor and juiciness into your burgers. If you've never tried it before, check out the super-yummy recipe below.
This sandwich is certainly decadent, but the island flavor of the applesauce-pineapple topping makes the burger finish on a lighter note. The spicy aftertaste of raw onion and garlic provides the perfect counterbalance to the sweetness. Finished off with fresh-tasting, crunchy arugula, this burger wins on all counts!

1 pound ground pork
Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
1/4 cup applesauce
1/4 cup crushed pineapple, drained
1/4 cup small red onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup mayonnaise
4 sesame-seed buns
1/4 cup chevre goat cheese, crumbled
1/2 cup baby arugula leaves
Shape the ground pork into four patties. Make a dimple in the center of each patty, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Heat the grill to medium-high. Place the burgers on the grill, and cook for eight to 10 minutes. Flip once, until they are cooked through and reach 160 degrees Fahrenheit on an instant-read thermometer.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the applesauce, drained pineapple, red onion and garlic. Set aside.
When the burgers are finished cooking, coat the bottom bun with 1 tablespoon mayonnaise.
Add a burger patty to each bun, and top it with the applesauce mixture.
Add the crumbled goat cheese and arugula to the burgers before serving.
