Sausage with cabbage and potatoes is a mainstay of frugal cooks. It’s a dish that requires minimal effort, but leads to big flavor. This meal puts little burden on a wallet because it only uses a handful of economical ingredients. Making it in the slow cooker takes this tasty dish a step further in terms of simplicity. Put the ingredients in the pot, turn it on, and walk away. That’s it!
Kielbasa is a Polish-style sausage (the word means sausage in the Polish language) usually made of pork or a combination of pork and beef that's then lightly smoked. You can substitute any smoked sausage for the kielbasa, though, because the flavors of the sausage shine in this simple dish.
