Southern 4-ingredient bacon stuffed celery is one of those old-school party snacks that never goes out of style because it is simple, salty, creamy, and wonderfully crunchy all at once. It is a great choice for potlucks, holidays, game days, and family get-togethers when you want something easy to make ahead but still special enough to disappear fast from the tray.

These little bites fit right in beside deviled eggs, pimento cheese crackers, pickle roll-ups, or a bowl of chips at any casual spread. I also like serving them with sweet tea, lemonade, or a big pitcher of iced water at summer gatherings, and they make a nice crisp contrast alongside heavier barbecue dishes and creamy casseroles.

Ingredients

8 celery stalks, washed and trimmed

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Directions

1. Cook the bacon until very crisp, then drain it well and crumble it into small pieces. Let it cool completely.

2. In a medium bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar until evenly combined.

3. Spoon or spread the mixture into the center of each celery stalk, filling the groove from end to end.

4. Cut the filled stalks into 3- to 4-inch pieces if desired, then chill until ready to serve. Arrange on a platter and serve cold or slightly cool.

Variations & Tips

For easier filling: If you want a neater look, use a small zip-top bag with the corner snipped off to pipe the filling into the celery. It goes faster this way, especially when making a big tray for a party.

Make-ahead tip: You can mix the filling a day in advance and keep it covered in the refrigerator. Fill the celery closer to serving time so the stalks stay extra crisp.

Kid-friendly version: For picky eaters, use a little less bacon and swap sharp cheddar for mild cheddar. The flavor will be softer and a little more familiar for younger snackers.

Extra Southern touch: A tiny sprinkle of paprika on top adds color and a little old-fashioned charm without changing the recipe much. It makes the platter look especially nice for showers, holiday tables, and block parties.
